a drive

I saw Spring today

the sky was lit with dusk as I drove home at 8
there is a pick haze on the trees

I saw Spring today

a gangly sunflower stands on my window sill
three markers stand guard over neat rows of seeds in the garden

I saw Spring today

fat, pale green leaf buds decorate dull gray branches
3 inch spikes of green stubbornly stand tall along the walk

I saw Spring today

several fat, saucy robins march around the yard
the rain patters and comes down softly and sweetly

I saw Spring today
Really!! I did!

My Man is Splendiferous!!

This evening Ethan asked me to get chocolate covered pretzels at the store. Jeremiah suggested that maybe they could make their own while I was gone (!!) Go for it. They made a valiant attempt, only to discover that Wilbur buds are not the melting, dipping type. They are more the "hmm, what happens . . ?" science experiment type. However, he is not to be deterred and will proceed with the project when I get some of the correct chocolate. I like this guy:)

Saturday

Saturday we went over to the Dam to check how full it is. It isn't very full, all the Spring run off is gone. But, we did have fun. The boys played a bit and than we went to the library. The balmy weather we are having is so pleasant.

Update

But first: My sweet boys! They sit so still and have such great expressions when they are watching something. I love them!

ahhhhh . . .

Pregnancy update: I went to the Dr. yesterday and everything is good. The spotting stopped almost 2 weeks ago and the Dr. said I can return to the normal routine. I still need to take normal pregnancy type precautions (no heavy lifting, etc.) but I can take care of the boys and the house and it is so nice to be back to normal. A special thank you to everyone who prayed and all those who came to help us out. We appreciate it all!

My next ultrasound appointment is on April 7th and at that time we will find out if it is a boy or a girl. I will take votes and/or hunches:) We'll see who is right! Ethan put his dibs in the other day: He wants a brother with a different name, like Judy! HA ha ha! Kids are great.

weeklies

Hans playing Candy Land

Danielle, Ethan and Hans playing games. Danielle comes two days a week to help with the boys so I can rest and take it easy:)

Danielle, Hans and Ethan

All dressed up for the Elim Junior/Senior Banquet. Earon and Bryan came and watched the boys while we went out for the night.

The Real Story: While Earon was taking the above "fancy picture" Hans was laying on his belly, at my feet, chewing on a button on my shoe! When he was done he slowly scooted away, on his belly. Silly Boy!

pregnancy update

Things are going along well here in the north. The snow has all melted so at least it LOOKS like spring is thinking about coming, even if most days it still FEELS like winter.

I am at 16 weeks and feeling much better now that I have moved into the second trimester. It is great to have energy and ambition again! The baby is doing well. I had an ultrasound last week (no, we do not yet know if it is a boy or girl, that will come in April) and the baby was developing well and moving and had a normal heart beat. However, they found a spot between the placenta and the wall of the uterus where the had been some bleeding. As a result I am on almost, but not quite, bed rest. I may be up and around, but no lifting, no chasing boys, no running, no vacuuming, . . you get the picture. I may sit! With my legs up! I may cook and I may go out to the store for short trips, but no mega shopping trips. The Dr. wants me to be very, very careful so that this spot can heal and any bleeding will stop completely. We have lined up different friends to come and be around during the day to help me with the boys. We don't know how long this will last. I see the Dr. again on March 24th, but I don't know if they will lift the restrictions then or not. We are praying for quick and complete healing. We value your prayers as well.

Recent Happenings

This past weekend we went down to my parent's house. It was so nice to see them again and spend a weekend relaxing. The boys loved it and had a great time. The trip down and back went really well. All in all it was good.

Movie night:)

Ethan's latest thing is covering his ears, don't know why, but this is what he does.

We found Hans deeply intent on his work
